Terms of Service

1. What CultChair is

CultChair ("we," "us") is a booking platform that connects clients with independent hair stylists. We are not a party to the appointment itself. The stylist provides the service; we provide the booking record, the deposit infrastructure, and the dispute path.

2. Your account

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password private, and use CultChair only for lawful purposes. Stylists agree to provide services they are legally licensed to perform in their jurisdiction.

3. Deposits and payments

Deposits are processed through Stripe. Refunds are governed by the stylist's written cancellation policy, which clients accept at booking. CultChair takes a platform fee on each deposit; the stylist's in-person balance is collected directly by the stylist.

4. House rules

Each stylist sets their own house rules. Clients accept them at booking. Violations may result in a hold on the deposit pending dispute review.

5. Reviews

Only clients with completed bookings can leave reviews. Reviews are tied to a real appointment. CultChair may remove reviews that violate our content policies (hate speech, doxxing, off-topic spam).

6. Disputes

Either party may file a dispute within the dispute window (24 hours after the appointment by default, configurable per service). The CultChair team reviews the booking record, payment history, and policies before deciding. Decisions are documented and visible to both parties.

7. Termination

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, abuse the dispute process, or attempt to take bookings off-platform after using CultChair to acquire the client.

8. Liability

CultChair is a booking facilitator. The stylist is responsible for the service performed. To the maximum extent allowed by law, CultChair's liability is limited to the platform fees paid by the affected party in the prior 12 months.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced via email and an in-app notice. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
